January 2009: QMA supports the actions of the New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP) and its ongoing endeavor to promote the rights of people with developmental disabilities. View the press conference of Assemblyman Louis D. Greenwald (D-Camden), where community advocates for the people with developmental disabilities (including NJACP) express their support for Greenwald's legislation (A-3625). The bill refocuses money spent on costly institutional care toward community-based services, with a goal of reducing the populations at the State's seven developmental centers by 80 percent within five years.
